What is a Rage Room?
The first Rage Room was thought to have started in 2008 in Japan and this concept has spread quite fast across the world. At Broken Pieces Rage Room, we’ve created a 1,500-square-foot space where you can safely release built-up stress, frustration, or anger by smashing everyday objects like TVs, printers, dishes, and much more. We supply all the safety gear—you bring the emotions and energy.
Our goal is simple: that you leave feeling better than when you walked in.
We know the mental health crisis in Saint John is real, and wait times to see a professional can be long. While we’re not therapy, we offer a space that helps bridge the gap—a healthy, physical outlet where people can take a breath, break something, and start to feel a little more like themselves again.
Whether you’re flying solo or coming in with friends, coworkers, or a team, our rage rooms are more than just entertainment—they’re a unique tool for stress relief, team-building, and personal release.
Come break the silence. Come break the stress. Come break the cycle.
About Broken Pieces
Broken Pieces Rage Room is a family owned company.
I, Julie Hebert (Owner/operator) have had ongoing mental health concerns over the years due to trauma causing PTSD, severe anxiety and depression. Even though I have had an amazing support system, I still felt alone and felt I had lost control of my emotions and didn’t know how to get the emotions out. I just really wanted to break or punch stuff but unfortunately anything that I broke at home had to be repurchased and the mess cleaned up. I saw videos about rage rooms online and thought …….WHY NOT? After personally going through a mental and physical transformation I started feeling better than ever and was motivated to inspire others so they have support as well. Along with my husband Ken, son Kolby and daughter Meaya, we made my dream a reality in the hopes of helping a lot of people
Our Facility
Our New facility includes 3 spacious Rooms. One is 11×14 fitting up to 4 people and the other is 10×18 fitting up to 7 people for smashing glass and other items. We have our Car Smash Room approx 14×20. We have approximately 200 square feet of office space with additional 200 square feet for a waiting area and an area to get ready. We still have our area for mental health information. We have a complimentary water area. Every room is equipped with a timer clock, security cameras and a speaker that you can hook your phone up to, in order to smash to your favorite music and also a mount for a phone to record your own session. Our change area has all the gear to protect you during your session. A 32 inch TV to watch the sessions in progress. A public washroom equipped with an emergency eye wash station. We have everything covered to make sure you have a safe and smashing good time. We have also added our Memorial Hall. If you have lost someone to mental health, we would like for you to come in and use our markers and write your loved ones name and the dates they passed, on our wall.
Memorial Hall – A Place to Honor, Grieve, and Remember
At Broken Pieces Rage Room, we understand that grief takes many forms – and that everyone deserves a safe space to process loss and honour those they love. That’s why we created the Memorial Hall, a dedicated area where you can remember and celebrate the life of someone you’ve lost.
Whether they passed due to mental health struggles, cancer or any other cause, their story matters – and so does your healing.
You are welcome to:
- Write their name and date they passed
- Place a decal (if available) in their memory
- Reflect, grieve, and find comfort in knowing their legacy lives on
This space was designed to give people a sense of closure and connection, offering a small, but powerful way to say: “You are not forgotten.”
Here, every name has meaning. Every mark on the wall is a story of love, loss, and remembrance.
Because healing sometimes starts by simply being seen – and letting others know someone lived, mattered, and are still remembered.
